An educational show (broadcast on PBS) teaching beginner to advance lessons on various subjects such as mathematics, science, history, foreign languages and other more random necessities. They do all this with humor - keeping all ages interested. When it originally aired, there would be additional info on how to obtain a transcript of the episode you'd just watched. Eventually, they even sold the videos.
