This episode was the first time that the "TSOP" theme was used on "Soul Train". According to the production code, this theme was already in use, even though the Jackson 5 episode introduced the new theme. Plus, the Soul Train set had been redesigned: Now train tracks are placed behind the big SOUL TRAIN title on the stage.
