Armors are the greatest technological invention in the military field in the lastest centuries. They keep you from being hit by an arrow on the battlefield, being shot on the battlefield, or stabbed on the battlefield. Basically because the best armors keeps you from reaching the battlefield. And if by any chance the war makes its way to you (accidentally) in the castle where you are "protected", you'll probably be in a dark room with other armors, and far away from the battle...
