Dr. Watson notes that Holmes is very annoyed that Irene managed to steal an important photo from him. At the same time, an explosion occurred at one of the London photo studios. The photographer is killed. Holmes is invited to the military department because of what happened is suspected an attempt at state security. At the crime scene, Holmes drew attention to the broken photographic plates - on the pictures is the same stranger. Holmes hopes to make Irene Adler tell him the whole truth about the mysterious man in dark glasses. But Irene is kidnapped, and Holmes is given an ultimatum: if he wants to see her alive, he must steal the fur coat of the French ambassador.
