She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Ratings & Reviews
- Jason FulceMarch 2, 2025I’m in the minority here but I actually enjoyed the She Hulk show. Tatiana Maslany is an exceptional actress and I thought she was actually good in the role. I liked her breaking the fourth wall and being more of a comedic character. That’s the way she was in the book. Granted the CGI ranges from good to holy shit that’s bad but it doesn’t take away too much from the show. Fans of legal comedies and lighter superhero fare may enjoy it, while those expecting a more action-packed Marvel experience might be disappointed.
- SlayerSantiagoJanuary 3, 2025She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a frustratingly misguided attempt at blending legal drama, superhero action, and comedy. Despite having a beloved comic book character at its core, the show feels like a hollow, self-congratulatory exercise in delivering humor that falls flat at every turn. The writing is juvenile, offering nothing but forced quips and a relentless stream of cringe-worthy, self-aware moments that break the fourth wall to the point of absurdity. Instead of building an interesting narrative or character arc, the series seems more concerned with making snarky comments about the superhero genre itself, which quickly grows tiresome. The pacing is erratic, moving between disjointed story lines without any real sense of direction. The lackluster villains are almost forgettable, and the show wastes any potential for compelling conflict by prioritizing contrived humor over actual stakes. The characters themselves are underdeveloped, with She-Hulk (played by Tatiana Maslany) struggling to come across as either likable or relatable. The constant joke about her being a "superhero for the people" feels more like a shallow gimmick than a meaningful part of her character. Visually, the special effects are often subpar, especially when compared to the high standards set by the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She-Hulk herself looks more like a poorly animated character from a video game than a believable superhero. This is made even worse by the awkward transitions between her human and Hulk forms, which completely lack any smooth integration with the overall world-building. In a show where the lead character is supposed to break the mold of typical superhero narratives, She-Hulk ends up perpetuating a formulaic, uninspired structure that wastes its potential. The moments of empowerment are drowned out by bad humor, weak character motivations, and an overall lack of substance. The show often feels like it's mocking its own premise, leaving viewers wondering why they should even care about a character who seems so completely detached from anything meaningful. It's a miss on almost every front, leaving Marvel fans disappointed and newcomers bewildered.

- Brad.Plex.October 13, 2024Attempting to capitalize on the success Deadpool had with 4th wall breaks, She Hulk fails miserably to succeed. Even the writers admit they have little talent and that "writing legal dramas is hard"
