Teremkov meets with Makhorkin in a restaurant and shows him a video recording showing Makhorkin in one of the underground brothels in a light that is not very attractive for the head of the police department. Teremkov says that he does not intend to sit in the swing until retirement and is aiming for the position of the head of the police department. He puts the boss before a choice: either an honorable pension, or a shameful resignation and explanations with his wife. Makhorkin informs Shapovalov that Teremkov has collected a whole folder of compromising evidence against him, and now the situation is as follows: either Teremkov will "eat" Shapovalov, or Shapovalov will find a way to "eat" Teremkov.
