I really struggle to find anything negative to say about this anime, but it lacks that final bit of "pop" to earn a full 5 stars—a rating I reserve only for exceptional cases. Nevertheless, the fights, the animation, and above all the musical score are fantastic. It’s all wrapped up in a great setting that works. I would perhaps deduct points for the world-building itself, as the in-game cities and landscapes are unfortunately quite generic and uninspiring. I might also make slight deductions regarding the animation during certain fights (specifically the 3D textures). It’s not a glaring issue, but it is noticeable—and for me, that always detracts slightly from an anime's overall quality.
