After their escape from the Merchants, Hans-Peter helps rescue Karl from some quicksand but the group later become separated after an encounter with the Samurai. Jacqui refuses to agree to marry Don Grego and manages to escape the village with help from Raoul. Mark stumbles out of the jungle and onto a beach where he comes face to face with a British submarine.
