The electoral system in the United States is one of the most complex and unique in the world, the result of a long history of compromises and political debates. On Election Day, the SciCast explored the system on three main fronts: suffrage (who can vote and the barriers to voting), legislative elections (how members of Congress are elected) and presidential elections (including the controversial indirect voting system). Finally, we look at the midterm elections, which play a crucial role in the balance of power in the US.
