After Machika loses her lover Hatta Yukito, she’s visited by Sawako Fukai, Yukito’s former lover. By chance, Sawako ends up moving in with Machika, whose family welcome her. However, despite her cheerful and witty nature, Sawako’s occasional bewitching and madness spreads like poison to Machika’s family and their surroundings.
