Kristen Stewart and Coldplay Ratings & Reviews
Decider
Larry Getlen
After a few unusually strong episodes, SNL reverted to a more familiar mundanity this week. A weirdly draggy cold open and monologue prefaced an episode that found occasional laughs scattered throughout largely unmemorable sketches.
Rolling Stone
Ryan McGee
In her second time hosting, Kristen Stewart isn't any more comfortable at being alone on stage on live television, but she's still excellent at being part of the SNL ensemble.
Guardian
Zach Vasquez
It's a fitting end to a disappointingly muted episode, one that seemed to want to push the envelope but only managed to nudge it. Stewart held her own and there were clever moments, but unfortunately no standouts on par with her last time as host.
TV Line
Ryan Schwartz
I was genuinely looking forward to seeing her again. Unfortunately, Stewart didn't seem excited to be back, and that reflected in her delivery throughout the night. And the writing was also less sharp this time around.
Slashfilm
Ethan Anderton
Though this episode was probably the worst of the season so far, it wasn't necessarily downright terrible. But having a mediocre episode is almost more frustrating in some ways. Hopefully they can pick things back up in a couple weeks.
Entertainment Weekly
Andy Hoglund
It is very sharp and hilarious - SNL almost always knocks these filmed parodies out of the park.
New York Magazine/Vulture
Matthew Love
Stewart again makes for a willing host, but this time around, she can't seem to hook into the material as well as she did during her debut.
indieWire
LaToya Ferguson
Not specifically the fact that Stewart and "SNL" don't just repeat what made her hosting debut work but the fact that "SNL" doesn't give Stewart anything all that memorable to work with.
AV Club
Dennis Perkins
Whatever the reason Kristen Stewart came back to host SNL for a second time, it was pretty clear from the outset that nobody was all that jazzed up about the whole thing.
Pajiba
Dustin Rowles
I don't know what Kristen Stewart is wearing, but it works. Plus one point. The monologue, alas, ain't so great.
