It’s Sanford without the Son — literally. Not horrible, but not great either. The show tries to carry on the charm and humor of Sanford and Son, but it’s missing that special chemistry between Redd Foxx and Demond Wilson that made the original so iconic. Redd still brings his classic wit and attitude, and there are a few laughs to be had, but the spark just isn’t quite there. Worth checking out for fans, but it’s hard not to feel like something’s missing.
