David's parents are moving to Chicago, but David doesn't want to join them. Darlene asks if David can move in with the Conners, but Roseanne and Dan declare it out of the question. Roseanne later learns that David is planning to just run away, so she meets with his mother who comes off as a mean and abusive drunk. She treats David so poorly that Roseanne changes her mind and allows David to move into the Conner house.
