⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (out of 5) Room 104 – Four Walls, Infinite Worlds Room 104 is one of those rare experiments that actually works. An anthology in the purest sense, every episode is its own strange, self-contained universe — horror, comedy, sci-fi, drama, and everything in between — all unfolding within the same four walls of a dingy motel room. The eponymous Room 104 becomes a stage, a confessional, a prison, a portal … whatever the story needs it to be. What makes it sing is its restraint. By trapping each tale in one location, the show forces imagination to do the heavy lifting. Ralphie, for example — a babysitter story that spirals into horror — could easily be expanded into a full-length film. The casting, too, is a delightfully chaotic lucky-dip: one week you’ll find horror legend Tony Todd, another, Charmed’s Melonie Diaz, or teen-drama royalty James Van Der Beek. Each brings their own flavour, yet the series still feels cohesive — bound together by tone, not plot. You never quite know what you’re about to get when you open that motel door, but that’s the magic of it. Each episode is a one-night stay in someone else’s story — some terrifying, some tender, all unforgettable. Pairing: A half-finished cup of motel-lobby coffee — slightly bitter, oddly comforting, and guaranteed to keep you awake wondering what’s behind the next door.
