- nandu2u2February 4, 2025Gorgeous, the photography by itself is a masterpiece. Every shot even more beautiful than the amazing locations. The story, nothing new, is layered into this but cannot outshine visuals.
- Kevin Ward7d agoI’m a big fan of Anthony Minghella’s adaptation of The Talented Mr. Ripley with Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow. I had assumed (incorrectly) that this new Netflix series was an adaptation of one of the other five Ripley novels from Patricia Highsmith. It, however, is an adaptation of the same novel. Still, I loved it all the same….perhaps even more-so. I was instantly drawn in by the lush black and white cinematography. It is not an exaggeration that every frame is exquisitely composed. Andrew Scott is magnetic and I was riveted from start to finish even though I was familiar with most (not all) of major story beats. Binged it all in two days because I couldn’t turn it off. Highly recommend.
