A night club singer is declared dead by suicide by a coroner but her fiancé, an entertainment magazine editor, doesn't buy it. He wants his friend Richard Diamond to investigate. Diamond was the one who introduced the singer to his friend. Diamond finds out that maybe Dorothy wasn't as sweet as she seemed.
