Revelations – The Initial Journey is a 2002 TV series, produced by Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment Group in New Zealand. The stories are told through the narrator who is called Jess the Traveller and played by Tom Hern. Each episode contains a story from a different time and place in world history. The show ran for one season and it had 26 half-hour episodes.

    Temptations' Run1888. Jess finds himself competing in a friendly race and interacting with the inhabitants of a small Gold Mining Community where he encounters Tugen, an innocent immigrant who dreams of winning the local school teacher's affections against all the odds. But something more malicious may be unfolding which requires Jess's intervention.

    A Dream of FlyingModern day. Following a crippling accident, Anna, a former teen horse riding prodigy, and her family visit a camping ground where Jess is working for the summer. Initially the two clash but eventually Jess and Anna become friends after Jess inspires her by showing that regardless of any situation, the future is always hopeful.

Jess encounters two of the pupils being bullied and in an attempt to help, discovers that the children have been living alone after their mother died and their father resorted to alcoholism.

    And Judas Had a Brother53 CE. Jess is employed as a cook at an orphanage. One of the orphans accidentally reveals that she and her sister are children of the rebel, Simon Avaran, and are being searched for by the Romans which places Jess in great danger as he tries to intervene.

    Tomorrow is Another DayDuring his travels through Central America in 1580, Jess encounters an attractive native girl who seems to be drowning in a lake. He saves her life and although her family are grateful to Jess, others in the tribe are not so happy to see an unfamiliar face and are suspicious of a stranger. But all soon realize that they have more in common that unites them, rather than divides them.

Prom is right around the corner and he's already impressing the teachers and students but has also gained the envy and jealousy of Danny, a sporting jock and the former top student at the school, who is also threatened by the flattering intentions Jess is receiving by the female pupils.

    Unfinished BusinessModern day. During an attempt to find sugar for his diabetic girlfriend, Greg, a 16 year-old star rugby player clashes with Carl, and they become entangled in a fist fight. Tragic news soon follows when Greg is told he will never play rugby again. He wants revenge. But Jess doesn't agree with his motives and attempts to persuade Greg to seek an alternative course of action.

    Do Unto Others1856. A Chinese store-owner and his grandson are being intimidated by a local gang of racist teenagers led by the bully, Tully. Jess intervenes but Tully is persistent and Jess looks for ways to ensure Tully is taught a lesson he will never forget.

    Mended Sole100 BCE. While working for a shoemaker as an apprentice, Jess becomes caught in a bitter feud over a broken sandal. This precipitates conflict and heartbreak for two young lovers who fail to receive the blessings of their fathers. Jess attempts to insure the impending marriage goes ahead. And that the two families can be reunited.

    David and Mr GModern day. After being fired from his vegetable delivery job, Jess is hired by Saul, a humble restaurant owner in Brooklyn, New York. But things turn sour when two gangsters threaten the business and Jess finds himself in great danger as he tries to seek justice for Saul and his family and an exit of the insidious 'protection' racket.

    A Mess of PottageDuring his travels in 450 BCE, Jess is attacked by tribesmen but is rescued by Esau, a hunter, who takes Jess back to his tribe's travelling camp. But Jess finds himself caught in the middle of a feud of jealousy between Esau and his brother Jacob/and a traditional ritual which will determine who will become the leader of the tribe after Jacob and Esau's sick father dies.
  • Coming Up Roses

    Coming Up Roses1955. Southern Ireland. In the small village of Kildogan, Jess meets Jonty and Mo, a brother and sister in desperate need of good fortune. He makes friends with the two teens and tries to help their family financially get back on their feet, which is complicated when their innocent father is conned into buying a useless piece of land.

    The Good Samaritan1961. Jess is the new pupil in a local high school in the southern states. He finds himself caught in a conflict when he mistakenly befriends a gang of teenagers who are set on intimidating Lucy, a local African American girl who wants to enroll in the school but is denied, due to inherent racism.
  • The Gardener

    The GardenerWhile travelling to Jerusalem, Jess is chased by a group of Roman soldiers. In an attempt to hide, he stumbles into a wedding in Cana where he meets Jesus, who suggests that Jess should follow him as a disciple. But Jess remains working as a gardener and soon discovers that there are more potent ways to change society and that words are more effective than weapons.
  • Grieving Las Vegas

    Grieving Las VegasModern day. While working in a Las Vegas casino, an awe struck Jess befriends a washed up performer, the narcissistic Tommy Love. But after joining the entourage and meeting Tommy's daughter, April, Jess discovers that Tommy isn't the star that he makes himself out to be. He attempts to reunite Tommy with the estranged April which highlights that there are more important things in life than fame.

Jess unexpectedly saves Morgan, a performer at a local market who is revealed to be a conman, selling fake potions to "cure" the plague from a heckling crowd. A crippled boy comes to Jess's aid and although Morgan and Jess are quarantined - Morgan discovers that miracles really can happen if he refrains from spreading false hope.

    Heads You LoseDuring the French Revolution, while working as a servant in the Chateau of Pierre Mandin in 1792 France, Jess is forced to help Pierre's buffoonish, drunken son, Phillipe. With the threat of the republicans increasing, Phillipe is disguised as a servant and Jess in turn is able to force Phillipe to see the world from another perspective.

    The Runaway1850. Jess befriends sixteen year old Samuel, who is expected to take over his dead father's job as the village baker. But Samuel dreams of travelling the world and 'being somebody'. When a minstrel troupe performs in the village square, Samuel takes the chance to run away with them. But will he achieve what he dreams of? Or even accept what he finds?

    God On Our SideJess finds himself in mythical, ancient time, encountering the Mali and the Dujane who have been at war for generations. Farin has been appointed to negotiate a peace treaty. The two tribes agree to surrender the thing most valuable to them within 7 days. But revenge, fanatical tradition and reasons for war are never simple - and Jess finds himself entangled in the midst of it all.
  • The Play's the Thing

    The Play's the ThingA theatre company is visiting the small town of Woolaroo in 1920's Australia. They discover Jess stowing away in their coach, who explains that he wants to become an actor. The group recruits him to their company but when a Hollywood producer watches their show and is impressed by Jess's acting talents, bitter jealousy soon arises fueled by the melodramatic failed actor and theater manager.
