Mildred is working on a case on her own which involves locating a man's dog. She finds the dog and brings the dog to the office and the dog is quite a handful. Later the man who took the dog shows up demanding it back. The owner shows up and Steele and Laura discover that the man is jewel thief. And the man who took his dog wants him to steal something.
