Instead, I found myself watching a very different kind of game — one of narrative manipulation and political whitewashing. Paramount+’s Red Alert attempts to humanize the Israeli military (IDF) under the guise of a human-interest drama, but beneath its polished production lies a clear propaganda undercurrent. The show positions October 7 as the “starting point” of the conflict, completely erasing over 70 years of documented displacement, occupation, and violence against Palestinians. By centering the story exclusively on Israeli military perspectives, the show implicitly endorses official state narratives while ignoring decades of civilian suffering under military rule. This selective storytelling mirrors a pattern in Western media, particularly from networks owned or influenced by major studios like Paramount, that often frame Israeli actions as “defensive” and Palestinian actions as “terrorism,” without equivalent scrutiny.
