The journey goes from Los Angeles, with a visit to the seaside town of Santa Monica and Hollywood, to San Luis Obispo and then to San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge, where with one of the oldest and shortest cable railways is the "Angels Flight", and the famous Cable Cars. The end point of the trip is Sacramento where the sea lions are visited and the Union Pacific Railroad makes a trip along the Sacramento River. - Norway: Oslo - Holmenkollen - Myrdal - Flåm - Bergen

With the tourist train Steam Ranger, the journey from Goolwa (near Adelaide) to the seaside resort of Victoria Harbor is undertaken. The journey then takes the horse-drawn tram to Granite Island and the Murray River is visited, after which the journey with Indian Pacific continues to the gold-digger town of Kalgoorlie.
