A violent and tragic accident at work changed Preben Nielsen's life and left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. After 3 years as a cripple, he has decided that he wants to die. But Preben himself is unable to take his own life and active euthanasia is not legal in Denmark. Anders Lund Madsen follows Preben in his struggle to be able to decide for himself over his own life - and his own death.

Prebens viljePreben also decides to record one last song for Brit before he embarks on his final journey to Belgium, where he is scheduled to die. In order to complete the flight, this means that he has to be lifted out of his wheelchair several times. Anders Lund Madsen is with us on this entire last part of the journey.
