The Jansen-Balzers move from Cologne to Berlin. Mother Marit and her husband Jonas are looking forward to a new beginning, as are their children Selma and Luis. With their passion for making loud music as a family band in their own four walls, the newcomers really rub people the wrong way in the housing development. An astonished neighbor immediately notices that the parents are firmly by their teenagers' side. There is one more thing that sets Jonas and Marit apart from other parents: as a couple that gets along perfectly, they still want to find a new form of relationship. The two agree to allow each other freedom and not to keep any secrets - even from their own children. For Selma and Luis, this openness brings with it some adjustments. Because they soon meet Johanna, Papa's acquaintance from Cologne. She acts completely naturally, as if she were already part of the family. Marit is also amazed.
