Dark comedy following the life of Ray. Presented in a clean, unpretentious way, showing the many incongruities we all live with. The most stark, I think, is when the show highlights how society more or less accepts domestic violence but is extremely heavy-handed with gang violence - even though the former affects the weakest in society. And when I say "accepts", it's the fact that it's so utterly common that it won't make the news, even though it's so disgusting. And by doing so, victims are less empowered to come forward. Excellent show, without all the faff and unnecessary canned laughter.
