Shortly after the end of the Second World War: eight-year-old Pimmi and her 15-year-old sister Nauka are gypsy girls who lost sight of their families during a police raid on the quarry, where the clan was camped. An adventurous search for her relatives begins. Pimmi trusts that the moon will show them the way.
