Monster: The Ed Gein Story Ratings & Reviews
- AdeOctober 9, 2025Great performances, however the storyline was annoying in the way it threw in lots of unproven & totally made up events, and don’t get me started on the attempt to show what was going on inside Ed’s head and beyond! Worst of the Monster series yet.
- Patrick WillisOctober 11, 2025A soulless, exploitative snuff film masquerading as a biopic. This isn't a study; it's torture porn that fetishises Gein's crimes without a shred of insight or artistry. A stupid, ugly, and pointless descent into depravity that just leaves an unholy stench. The only thing monstrous here is the sheer, unadulterated gall of the depraved Yiddites that wrote and produced it, and desperately hoped we'll mistake it for art.
- Kevin WardOctober 24, 2025Props to Charlie Hunnam because I somehow watched this entire series not realizing that was him. There is an interesting conversation to be had about Ed Gein and the influence his murders have had on major pop culture touchstones. I don’t think this series quite gets there though. And I was a bit bored by the time we got to the end.
- Jay Marie BaileyDecember 29, 2025Fairly interesting show albeit sensationalised for the purpose of entertainment. My biggest issue with it was how Ed spoke partly his tone but then how his accent would randomly become Irish
- Austin BurkeOctober 24, 2025Season 3 is visceral, uncomfortable, and tells this true story of Ed Gein in a slightly fictionalized way, not straying away from his atrocities. Hunnam makes some interesting decisions that are memorable, regardless of how divisive they will be. The decision to include so many storylines heavily impacts the pacing, yet seeing the impact of Gein’s acts through future Hollywood films made it more interesting than expected. Laurie Metcalf steals the show.
- ahwooOctober 18, 2025Not to be watched as a straight up doocumentry but as a collage of what 'Ed Gein' was to the world on multiple angles and viewpoints. The story is woven quite well dispite the NUMEROUS inaccuacies. It's certainly well worth the watch.
- Darth AnarkNovember 9, 2025When the show focuses on Ed's story it's good, but holy crap there's a lot of filler.
- MrFwongOctober 21, 2025weird and way to long
- DOAN FSDOctober 17, 2025The acting from all talent was on a different level from most serial killer TV shows. Call me insane, because I was disturbed by how often I found myself laughing at the family dynamic insanity and Ed's immaturity. I'm not talking chuckles either; I'm talking the laughing fits. You couldn’t feel sorry for the bad policing and the constant overlooking of Ed’s disturbing behavior.
- Randy HoopesOctober 9, 2025It's ok, very disturbing
- AmberOctober 7, 2025Amazing!
