New series can be a lot like first dates, awkward and straining and full of disjointed information. But as Kate explains to a client who is about to give up on love, you can tell when something might work because "it just feels right." And this just does.
San Francisco Chronicle
Tim Goodman
"Miss Match" is fueled entirely by Silverstone, whose infectious smile and obvious niceness make you root for her the entire hour.
Seattle Post-Intelligencer
Melanie McFarland
OK, we realize the whole thing sounds relentlessly girlie, but series creator Darren Star has managed to hit a bull's-eye here.
New York Post
Linda Stasi
"Miss Match" is clever and sweet enough to stand on its own.
New York Times
Virginia Heffernan
Real joy pervades ''Miss Match..." Not only does Alicia Silverstone reprise the pose of beleaguered noblesse oblige that she struck so gleefully in ''Clueless...'' but she also performs in a delightful context.
Variety
Ann Donahue
[T]he conceit of "Miss Match" - divorce attorney by day, matchmaker by night - is so slight that the premise seems old by the end of the pilot.
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Rob Owen
As Kate, [Alicia] Silverstone's personality bubbles as effortlessly as it did in "Clueless," but "Miss Match" is so slight -- not funny enough, not romantic enough -- it's really a trifle.
Boston Globe
Matthew Gilbert
[Kate's] very likable -- and so is [Alicia] Silverstone, particularly in the matchmaking scenes. She has a sweet charm that's worth every calorie.
Los Angeles Times
Robert Lloyd
Made to be merely charming and delightful, it is both.
Hartford Courant
Roger Catlin
[Alicia Silverstone's] role as a divorce lawyer turned part-time romance broker makes the thoroughly agreeable "Miss Match" a bright spot among the new network offerings.
PopMatters
Terry Sawyer
Entering the experience with low expectations, I found myself warmed by the show's premise as well as its knick-knack dramedy. Producer Darren Star cobbles together some of the more endearing elements of his small screen successes into Miss Match.
Chicago Tribune
William P. Bohlen
The show has similar pacing as "Sex," and musical interludes between scenes that briefly hint that Carrie Bradshaw and Co. might be around the corner. Alas, they are not, but Kate is as charming a substitute as any.
