Season 2 Reviews
Decider

The new killer in town is the fulcrum on which the entire season rests... The show has its head on straight when it comes to its skull-emblazoned guest star. It treats the man like a monster.
New York Magazine/Vulture
Abraham Riesman
It's hard to do anything new in the superhero genre, but the second season of Marvel's Daredevil seems resolutely determined not to try.
Observer
Vinnie Mancuso
Jon Bernthal is the perfect Punisher because there is zero fun in his performance.
MTV
Inkoo Kang
We finally get a sense of our hero's sense of justice in the series's vastly improved, if narratively disheveled, sophomore year through two new scene-stealing characters: Marvel fan favorites The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Yung).
indieWire
Liz Shannon Miller
This second season doesn't at all feel like a waste of time. But here at the end, it doesn't feel necessary for there to be a third season.
Tribune News Service
Rick Bentley
Cox does a masterful job as both the blind lawyer and crime fighter that the Daredevil series is worth watching on its own even if you have no plans to look at the other offerings from Netflix based on Marvel characters.
New York Magazine/Vulture
Joshua Rivera
As a whole, the season has been an interesting, somewhat nonsensical ride, punctuated by great moments.
The Atlantic
Sophie Gilbert
Daredevil is about a man with a savior complex who wrestles with the morality of violence, which the show portrays in gruesome, prolonged, visceral ways.
Vox
Alex Abad-Santos
A season that fully understands Daredevil's strengths and plays to them accordingly. But this second installment is underwritten, and has failed to build on the show's fine first season.
Salon.com
Mark Peters
I've seen the first 8 episodes of the new Daredevil season, and I'm glad to see the writers have taken many cues from Ennis' Punisher stories.
Entertainment Weekly
Jeff Jensen
Goddard, DeKnight, and D'Onofrio are gone, and so is the spark. Season 2-overseen by exec producers Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, who both wrote on season 1-is a straight-up disappointment.
Slant Magazine
Aaron Riccio
Season two of Daredevil reveals that continuity of characterization is often more graceful and compelling than increasingly tiresome displays of martial-arts kineticism.
Newsday
Verne Gay
Once again, bone-crunching violence, and a compelling hero.
The Playlist
Kimber Myers
The Hell's Kitchen-set show may be smaller-scale than its blockbuster superhero counterparts, but that doesn't make it any more soulful or human.
New York Times
Mike Hale
Daredevil is still a solid crime-fighter action drama, with handsome, dimly lighted camerawork reflecting the point of view of its blind hero and fight choreography that's economical but effective.
AV Club
Dennis Perkins
The series maintains its appropriately low-rent look, making Matt Murdock's internal struggles in the first half of this second season that much more human.
AV Club
Oliver Sava
As I mentioned many times in my reviews of the first season, Daredevil is not a subtle show, and that's still the case with season 2.
HitFix
Alan Sepinwall
Too many characters and subplots, and too many scenes that run on and on for no particular reason - on top of the unmistakable blandness of the guy in the red(ish) costume, for Daredevil to feel as satisfying so far this season.
TIME Magazine
Daniel D'Addario
Daredevil just wants to dole out fun doses of extreme gore on the path to an endpoint on a business plan. Any viewer committed to story is left searching in the dark.
Entertainment Weekly
Kevin P. Sullivan
Overall, the season felt like an improvement over the first, but there's still room to grow.
