Matrimonio con hijos is the Spanish adaptation of the American series Married... with Children, which aired on Spain's Cuatro between May 2006 and January 2007. The comedy follows the Camachos, a struggling middle-class family living in a typical suburban townhouse. As a rule, they rarely have anything good to say about anyone — including themselves.
Fran and Lola met in high school and, since then, neither has changed much. Both feel that life has cheated them: he thinks she’s crazy, and she thinks he’s a rat. They have two children: Belén, somewhat boy-crazy and carefree, and Kiko, their precocious and clever son. Both attend the same high school.
Their neighbors, Pati de López and her husband Pelayo, employees at a savings bank, provide the perfect contrast. Although the Camachos seem unable to stand each other, their biting remarks and constant attempts to undermine one another cannot break the strong family bonds that unite them. Affection is not always openly shown.
