Richard reviewedOctober 18, 2025 Saw this on TV in the early '80s.
Patrick Duffy as Mark Harris, the last survivor of Atlantis, swimming like a dolphin and blinking like he’s allergic to land.
It was weird, slow and strangely hypnotic.
The underwater scenes were endless, the plots were thin, but as a teen, I was hooked.
He had webbed hands, super strength and zero social skills.
The Cetacean submarine looked like a plastic toy, the crew had names I barely remembered and the villains were cartoonish.
But it had charm. It felt like sci-fi trying to be deep, but ending up campy. And that’s why it worked.
