Saw this somewhere in the '80s on Dutch TV, probably late at night when the grown ups thought you were asleep. A sitcom about one guy sharing a flat with two women? That was spicy for the time. Robin Tripp, the cheeky chef, moves in with Chrissy and Jo. Cue awkward flirting, gender politics and landlords George and Mildred, who were basically sitcom gold. It was British, bawdy and full of innuendo. As a teen, I didn’t catch every joke, but I knew it wasn’t Sesamstraat. The canned laughter, the wallpaper, the fashion, it’s a time capsule of '70s Britain. And it spun off George and Mildred, which somehow got even funnier.
