Season 2

Made in Canada is a Canadian television situation comedy which aired on CBC Television from 1998 to 2003. Rick Mercer co-created the program and starred as mercenary TV producer Richard Strong.

In the United States, France, Australia and Latin America, the show was syndicated as The Industry. It was produced using a single camera setup.

    MergerPunished for dipping his pen in the company ink at the end of season one, Richard craftily maneuvers his way back to Pyramid by duping Prodigy, the competition, which is led by the penny-pinching CEO Dennis Weston. Blackmail and deceit lead to a powerful merger between the two that results in a new powerhouse entertainment company, Pyramid/Prodigy.

    New OfficeWith Alan leading the newly formed Pyramid/Prodigy, any concerns about merging these two distinct corporate cultures are dealt with quickly. Meanwhile, Richard and Victor play good cop/bad cop with the sole Prodigy television executive. Little do they know that this exec has yet to reveal his ace in the hole. He's Kiefer Sutherland's brother-in-law and Kiefer wants to do TV.

    Damacles DirectsThe star of "Sword of Damacles" wants to direct. Unfortunately, walking and talking at the same time is a Herculean task for the steroid-enhanced actor. Complicating things is Alan's daughter, Siobhan, who guest stars in the episode. Meanwhile, Richard is sent to the set with simple instructions - babysit Damacles and the voices in his head.

    It's a ScienceA flaky New Age religion brainwashes and blackmails the gang at Pyramid when a former writer claims he created the profitable "Sword of Damacles" series. Alan refuses to settle, fearing that every writer that he has ripped off in the past will come out of the woodwork with their hands out. Victor infiltrates the cult, only to fall under the spell of its enchanting and charismatic leader.

    DivaIt's Sweeps Week and Pyramid lures fading diva Dian Del Largo to the set of "Beaver Creek." Redefining the phrase "high maintenance," Dian serves tantrums and abuse as appetizers, with hallucinations and a complete mental breakdown as the main course. When ratings are at stake, Richard has no choice but to make a last-resort call. Master diva wrangler Gino Empry is brought in to save the day.

    Connect the DotsAlan takes on the role of management guru and corporate buzz words pollute the Pyramid offices. Through the "Success Through Failure" management philosophy, Richard is expected to merge "Kung Fu" with "Beaver Creek."

    Life in the WoodsAlan decides Beaver Creek sucks after watching one of the episodes against the advice of everyone and fires the entire staff. He puts Victor in charge of directing, Veronica in charge of the budget, and Richard in charge of making sure the program is watchable, and he runs off to play golf, badly.

    The Christmas ShowAlan's in a bad mood, so he cancels Christmas. The staff rebels against the idea and faxes a copy of the memo to the newspaper earning Alan the name ""The Grinch"". He decides to rectify the situation by donating the normal Christmas money to a needy family he can exploit. Meanwhile Alan seems to be cursed after a group of Wiccan's complain that Beaver Creek shouldn't say Merry Christmas, but ""Happy Holidays"". The needy family turn out to be actors hired by Alan. Richard returns the gift and he and Victor deliver the money to the real Todd family and watch them from across the street as they discover the gift.

    Girls Night OutFed Up with being ignored Veronica lets the entire staff have the day off and takes Wanda and Lisa out to lunch leaving the men alone to panic over the question to the German taxes. The trio tear the office apart looking for the files. After they've emptied all the desks and filing cabinets searching for the tax returns they find a joint and a few bottles of booze and decide to have an impromptu bankruptcy party. Veronica's lunch runs a little late.... all the way to last call. The next day Veronica returns to work and reports the taxes were paid the week before. To make up for his years of mistreatment Alan gives her a 20% raise and 4 weeks paid vacation.

    Creative DeadlineA new temp mistakenly puts a call through to Alan from Diane Summers, one of the country's most successful investigative journalists. Convinced they're the target of an exposé, they plan to beat her at her own game.

    NATPEAlan discovers the healing power of magnets and orders everyone to begin wearing them in their shoes as they prepare for the big television convention NATPE. They Pyramid gang begins working on a new 13 minute daily news show that will stream to every highschool in America but soon learn that Alan's arch enemy is also making his own project. At NATPE Richard straps the magnetic shoe inserts to his arms and proceeds to wipe all of Moses' pilots. His actions work, but not before Moses discovers his treachery resulting in him getting hired by Moses to run his new Bogota, Columbia station.
