UNIC receives an enigmatic phone call: a woman will die tonight in an intersection. Arriving there, they only find the body and a piece of chess in her hand. The killer, always one step ahead, leaves enigmatic clues after each crime, transforming his victims into sacrificed pieces. In each movement, he manipulates the detectives in his macabre game. A mysterious chess player seems to be in the center of it all but, when captain Eligio receives a phone call from the killer, the rules change, and the game has just begun.
