Six teams compete through a series of physical and mental challenges as it narrows down to only one team given the privilege to enter a mysterious Mayan temple in order to retrieve an artifact from a well known figure in a limited amount of time.

The Mysterious Manuscript of Mary ShelleyThe first challenge is the "Moat Crossing," where the teams must by cross inflatable lily-pads using a wooden plank. The Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, Green Monkeys, and Silver Snakes progress. In the "Steps of Knowledge," the Blue Barracudas are the first to progress, followed by the Silver Snakes. The first of the Temple Games is "Six Chapters of 'Frankenstein'" (Pop-Up Tunnel), which ends in a tie. The second Temple Game is "Frankenstein's Electricity" (Olmec Wheels), won by the Blue Barracudas. The third and final Temple Game is "Ring Around the Monster" (Rubber Ring Toss), won by the Blue Barracudas with two Pendants, making them worthy to enter Olmec's Temple.
