Julie Turner is a physiotherapist and yoga instructor. Her husband, Eric Turner, is a politician. They have a son named Jacob. One night Eric arrives at home to announce that he will be a candidate for congressman of the state of Massachusetts. He explains that he will need the support of his family to win the election. A sponsor of his political campaign organizes a party in which the candidature of Eric will officially be announced. Julie says that she has to work with her patients and does not accompany Eric to the party. In the middle of the night Julie sees on television that Eric had a car accident, and that he is at a police station in police custody. Robin Jennings, who has a love affair with Eric and is his press officer, arrives at their home and says all that Julie must do in the morning when she goes to the police station to find her husband. Julie arrives at the police station and Cary Coleman, a journalist who lives near the yoga studio, speaks to her about a driving under the influence of alcohol incident. Julie answers that it happened 20 years ago. Robin takes her away to look for Eric. The couple go to their car, and Robin announces that there will be a press conference in the morning.
