Angela has told everyone that her father Mick is dead since he is a chronic alcoholic and she has devoted her life to looking out for him, to the extent that when boyfriend Danny proposes she turns him down. As a result Danny prepares to leave town, forcing Angela to tell him the truth about her father and confronting Mick with her own needs.
