Gangadhar is informed that Lord Dalhousie wants him to attend a meeting in Gwalior. When Laxmibai gets ready to return to her palace, she feels a little faint. However, she manages to reach the palace and learns that Gangadhar has left for Gwalior. Dalhousie warns Gangadhar that as per the Doctrine of Lapse, Jhansi would soon go to the East India Company because he did not have an heir. However, Gangadhar assures him that his queen was capable of managing Jhansi, in the event of his death. Dalhousie taunts about a woman running his kingdom, so Gangadhar reminds Dalhousie that even his queen is a woman! Nelson admits to a furious Laxmibai that Samar did not kill Ross; he did. Just then, he receives a court order and informs Laxmibai that Samar Singh and Karma would be hanged unto death. Laxmibai collapses hearing the news.
