When the Peshwa absolves Manu, Vahini roars that Manu can return to the palace after undergoing purification. As Manu ponders Vahini's hurtful comments and sees Goddess Durga's idol being readied for 'Durga Saptami', Tatya Tope urges her to use her coming purification as a springboard for becoming an anti-British revolutionary.
