Fraser is surprised on learning that Samar Singh rescued Manu from prison. Motibai informs Gangadhar Rao that the person whom the king had sent to jail has escaped with the help of Samar Singh. Fraser reaches the palace and confirms the news. The British official provides further information to the King that Samar Singh plans to pray at the Durga temple later in the day. Gangadhar Rao decides that it is high time Samar Singh is punished for his wrongdoings.
