- Charles London19 april 2025Faith is very personal, so making a movie about the most widely-read book in history, through the eyes of the screenwriters, director, actors, etc., makes the interpretation and presentation of such subject matter challenging. That said, this mini-series handles the task as well as, or better than, any project I have seen. Masterful director, Franco Zefferelli, has hit a high mark, one that has lasted nearly 50 years and because the story never ages, will likely last another 50. It's worth mentioning the great casting throughout the production. Many actors have played these same parts over the years, but I will always remember Rod Steiger as Pontius Pilate.
