El ojo irónico. Ramón MasatsRamon Masats wasn't sure about his future. He didn't see himself working in his family's salt-fish shop; he wanted something more. It was during his military service that he came across a copy of Arte Fotográfico magazine and began to take an interest in photography. With money stolen from his father, he bought his first camera and learned the basics. He soon realized that the photography being done in Spain wasn't what interested him. He met other young people who shared his opinion, and together they completely changed Spanish photography while portraying a Spain that was disappearing. At ninety years old, Ramón Masats recalls how, with his camera, his solitary spirit, his creative freedom, and his unique, intuitive, and ironic outlook, he managed to renew photography in this country. This is the lighthearted account of a pioneer who pursued his work against the tide while becoming, in the opinion of many experts, the greatest Spanish photographer in history.
