Based on the homonym novel by Constandinos Theotokis. At Corfu by the beginning of the 20th century a family leader Stathis Therianos falls in love with his younger villager Xrisavgi. In order to approach her persuades his son, who is peer to Xrisavgi- to marry her. When the son joins the army Xrisavgi stays at home with the rest of the family and Stathis can't hold back his dark passion anymore...
