Hulli is a cartoon version of the show's creator, Hugleiki Dagsson. He lives in Reykjavík and is a declining artist. His lousy comics, which have enjoyed considerable success, are in danger of selling. Hulli's friends are a dubious group. His agent, Kiddý, is an immoral drug-denier with bipolar disorder. Þorri is Hulli's brother. He is a quiet romantic who lets Hulla get all over him. Bergljót, Hulla's friend, is a perpetual student. She takes herself seriously as a feminist but still constantly seeks the approval of men. Svanur, Hulla's childhood friend, is a nerd as they come. He was once a nerd, but betrayed his cool when he started exercising. Hulli forgives him late. This colorful group of friends helps Hulla in his search for happiness, but nothing seems to work out for him.
