An examination of the crater lakes of Cameroun in West Africa. Local legends say the lakes stir and 'move' even when no wind blows. In 1986, hundreds of people and thousands of cattle in towns around Lake Nyos die overnight, and an investigation points to the lake as the culprit. The programme talks to the few survivors and explains the combination of physical and chemical processes in the lake that caused the disaster.
