Drama series depicting the frenetic daily lives of the doctors, nurses and patients in the hectic cardiac unit of Holby City General Hospital. The unit is run by the autocratic Consultant Surgeon Anton Meyer (George Irving) assisted by arrogant sidekick Registrar Nick (Michael French) who find themselves in a continuous running battle with Consultant Muriel McKendrick (Phyllis Logan) over beds with the rest of the staff caught in the cross-fire.

Hold On MeMax begins to show signs of his continued opiate abuse which starts to effect his work. Luc forces his hand into giving a blood test but instead Max states he is leaving Holby not to return. Jonny and Mo play a practical joke on Tara with Ollie's phone but it backfires on them when Tara cottons on to what they are up to. The report into Ritchie Mooney's death is inconclusive and Hanssen is bombarded with hate mail.
