Highway Patrol is an Australian factual television series screened on the Seven Network that premiered on 21 September 2009. Highway Patrol follows members of the Victoria Police Highway Patrol (formerly Traffic Management Unit) who face dangerous and unusual cases every time they hit the road. The police deal with high-speed car chases, car crashes, out-of-control drunk drivers and defiant hooligans.

A car is pulled up by Senior Constable Jeremy Boncher for driving in the hazard lane – the driver’s emergency? He’s late for dinner!! Senior Constable Mick McCrann sees a driver on the phone but when he stops her she has one of the most elaborate excuses you will ever hear.

    SleazeballA driver is caught doing 126km/h in an 80 zone, and the senior constable soon discovers the car is also unregistered and has the wrong number plates. This adds up to a mountain of fines, but his biggest worry is getting the woman he's with home before her boyfriend finds out. A driver behaving badly is pulled over and decides to keep drinking, even though he's being breath tested. Two senior constables are on the tail of an unregistered bike. When the bike suddenly speeds off, the pursuit becomes dangerous.

The Constables follow him while he weaves in and out of traffic. Once they pull him over his excuse is that he was speeding to get to the bathroom.

But the driving isn't the worst offence this man commits tonight as Terry discovers when he opens the boot of the man's car.
