Trick or treating in Bochum in Halloween zombie costume with DA Ellen's brat daughter Emily, Heldt stumbles upon the corpse of Martin Sachs, asphyxiated at home wearing a pumpkin head in costume. The fired security agent at Dr. Renate Leiphold's genetic manipulation firm Bereschit AG branch actually died from excessive pumpkin toxin in two helpings of soup, made from the firm-modified hybrid that allowed him to break the winning streak of horticultural society champion Michael Brehmer, which he was unable to taste as terribly bitter as an early symptom ('ageusia') of his MS. * Forbidden his usual dodgy tactics against the legally well-shielded firm, Heldt traps Laura Wimmer's vandalizing environmental activist group to enable him intruding, yet needs more clues closer to Sachs's home.
