Harter Brocken

Season 1

Frank Koops is a police officer in the small mountain town of St. Andreasberg in the Harz Mountains, which is usually quite tranquil. He is known in his area with his green Lada Niva and everything seems to be going well. But crime also penetrates into these hidden corners. Koops masters challenges in his very own, calm way and his criminalistic qualities are always underestimated by the criminals. His specific local knowledge is also an advantage. He is friends with the postman Heiner Kelzenberg and his young colleague Mette Vogt from the neighboring town of Braunlage. Both are important helpers in an emergency.

The bloodbath was ordered by the imprisoned mafia boss Petrovic, who wants to use all means to get rid of a key witness who was hidden in the tranquility of St. Andreasberg in the utmost secrecy. LKA officer Christiane Kuschnereit, a childhood friend of Frank Koops, was responsible for protecting the witness. She had rightly feared that there must be "moles" in the police force. As she dies, after the shootout with Petrovic's killers, she lets Koops into a secret: the alleged key witness was a civil servant, the real Matilda Schönemann is still in town under a false name. Koops takes on the dangerous task of bringing the young woman to the court hearing unharmed. He has no other choice, because Simone, with whom he has already crossed swords, has his colleague Mette (Anna Fischer) in her power. The message is clear: the hostage will only stay alive if the coup succeeds. So Koops has to come up with something. While Mette is held prisoner in a holiday home by the unpredictable Björn (Jan Krauter), Koops sets out to carry out his daring plan with Simone and her unscrupulous friend Hagen (Michael Rotschopf). With his mixture of serenity and peasant cunning, Koops finds out what the burglar was looking for and who the restorer really is: It is the sought-after art forger Anna Sorenko, who is hiding herself and a world-famous painting from the Calabrian mafia. Don Moretti soon appears in person in the Harz Mountains to retrieve the multi-million dollar work of art that he had stolen from a museum. Koops is just as unimpressed by the cold-bloodiness of the criminals as he is by the charm of the beautiful forger. As always, the incorruptible village sheriff can rely on his instincts as well as on his colleague Mette and the postman Heiner, who keep their backs at the lead showdown.

Together with his colleague Mette and the postman Heiner, Koops tries to find out what brought the biker boss from Hanover, together with his mysterious lover Nina and his devoted brother Chris, back home.
