Yoichiro Kamura is a distinguished heart surgeon who had discovered the cure to rejuvenate aging failing hearts. His philosophy in life is "Doctors, after killing three people, then they will be fully qualified". However, Yoichiro is unaware of the side-effect of the cure that he had invented... the heart will rupture when it is over stimulated. Kazuhisa Sakuma is a bureaucrat who believes that the old are a problem to society. He feels that they are good-for-nothings who should be eliminated before they destroy the country. Due to the advanced medical know-how in Japan, the life expectancy of its people has increased through the years, but yet they are not contributing to the country's growth, which is a burden to the country. Suspecting Yoichiro's cure to have a negative side-effect, Kazuhisa plots to use it to achieve his nefarious objectives. Rentaro Kuraki was once a famous actor. His heart is failing, but he wishes to star in one last film before he dies, and so he opts for the procedure under Yoichiro. It turns out that Yoichiro is the illegitimate child of Rentaro, who had abandoned his mother when he was a child. Yoichiro hates Rentaro from the bottom of his heart, but has no choice but to perform the procedure for him. When the side-effect comes to light, will Yoichiro try to save his father's life?

Kamura, who was assured of winning the university professor election, declines the invitation, but immediately after that, he becomes involved in a suspicious document spree accusing him of past medical errors. On the other hand, Kuraki (Tatsuya Nakadai), a famous national actor who is retired due to heart failure, is hospitalized in hopes of conducting a clinical trial on Kamura. Episode 2Yasaki, who seems to have succeeded in Kuraki's (Tatsuya Nakadai) clinical trial, is upset when it turns out that he has a side effect of a ruptured heart. Behind the scenes of Kuraki's "miraculous resurrection" attracting public attention, Kamura desperately tries to improve the side effects. However, the suspicious document fuss of medical errors is about to develop into a lawsuit, and the family is cornered by the offensive of Kimiko Matsuno (Maki Sakai), a lawyer on the bereaved family's side.
