There is only one substance on earth with a hardness of 10: diamonds. The brutal business of finding the rough stones is at least as tough, and the creators of this series have knitted a gripping adventure out of it. The story of the beautiful Nadine Mercier, who, through her lover Abdul Carraco, gets caught up in diamond smuggling at a very young age. She soon realizes that he is a cowardly murderer. When she escapes the African desert and flies to Europe, on the plane she meets and older, wealthy man, Martin Melchior, whom she marries. Much too late, she realizes that his new husband is too is walking over corpses. Back in South Africa she not only gets a new love, Piet van Straaten, but becomes also the target of her vengeful husband.
