Tom does remarkably well playing Danny in a reenactment. It turns out the burnt boat belonged to Owen's late father. Jack Reinhold's exposed past, which he explains to Carver as a fake charge by his future wife's father, leads to vandalizing his home and his suicide by drowning. Owen has enough of his San Francisco Globe lover's dirty tricks.
